Update your address in the Danish Civil Registration System (CPR)

If your address in the Danish Civil Registration System (CPR) is incorrect or outdated, and you currently live in Denmark, you must report a move to the Danish authorities.

In most cases, you can report a move via lifeindenmark.borger.dk, but there may be special cases where you need to contact your municipality.

Please wait 24 hours from updating your address in the register to assigning a NemKonto. This is to make sure that your new address is active in the NemKonto System so that the activation letter is sent correctly.

If you have left Denmark, it is important that you have a valid and correct address in the the Danish Civil Registration System (CPR) so that the Agency for Digital Government can send you an activation letter.

If your address is incorrect, you will not be able to receive the activation letter.

If you have left Denmark, you can update your foreign address in the register via lifeindenmark.borger.dk. This requires access to MitID.

If you do not have access to MitID, you must contact the municipality where you last lived and ask them to update your address.

Please note that the Agency for Digital Government and NemKonto Support cannot change your address in the Danish Civil Registration System (CPR). Only you or your municipality of residence have access to change your address.
