NemKonto Easy Account

questions (FAQs) about NemKonto Easy Account.
1. What is a NemKonto Easy Account?
A NemKonto Easy Account is a normal bank account which you already
have, and designate as your NemKonto Easy Account. All payments
from public institutions will be transferred directly to this
account.
2. Who needs to have a NemKonto Easy
Account?
All citizens and companies in Denmark.
3. Why introduce NemKonto Easy
Account?
NemKonto Easy Account is part of a
project to digitise the Danish public sector. There are numerous
advantages with NemKonto Easy Account – for the government,
for people and for companies:
- You no longer need to go to the bank to cash checks from public institutions.
- You can submit or change your account information at one place.
- Public offices save time and money by avoiding payments in cash or check.
- Public authorities will use less time updating account information.
4. How do I inform the authorities about my NemKonto
Easy Account?
Contact your Danish bank and
inform the bank which account you wish to use as your
NemKonto Easy Account.
Log on to www.nemkonto.dk
and enter the new account number. You can do this if you have a
digital signature. A digital signature is free of charge and can be
attained here: http://www.danid.dk.
5. What if I haven't got a bank
account?
You don’t necessarily have to have
a bank account to have a NemKonto Easy Account. If you use your
spouse’s account,
for instance, you can designate it as your NemKonto Easy Account.
If you haven’t got access to any account, you can choose a
bank and ask them to open an account for you which can be
designated as your NemKonto Easy Account.
6. What if I cannot get a bank
account?
In this case you must contact the public
office from where you receive payment. They’re required to
make the payments to you, and can probably help you find a
solution.
7. Can I still receive my money by
check?
In principle, the money can no longer be
paid by check once NemKonto Easy Account takes effect. However,
there might be special cases where a public entity is unable to
make payments electronically. In such cases, it’s up to the
particular public office to find a solution, and this might be a
check.
8. Who can see my account
number?
The only ones who can see your entire
NemKonto Easy Account number and the account information are you
and your bank.
9. What if I change my bank or my
account?
You have to change your NemKonto Easy
Account if you get a new bank. You can always get your bank to
change your NemKonto Easy Account. You can also do it yourself at
www.nemkonto.dk if you have a digital signature.
10. Can I receive public payment to an account other
than my NemKonto Easy Account?
You only have one
account which is designated as a NemKonto Easy Account. However,
it’s also possible to designate
a so-called “specific account” for particular payments.
A specific account requires a separate submission which is not
updated automatically. So it’s advisable to use your NemKonto
Easy Account to the extent possible..
11. What does it cost to set up a NemKonto Easy
Account?
It is free of charge for both citizens
and companies to designate an account as a NemKonto Easy
Account.
